C'est What in Toronto, ON
With Ember Swift
9:30pm doors, $10.00
This will be the last time the Ladybird Sideshow appear at Nia (C'est What) before they close the doors of the music room for good (but bad). So come out and enjoy and try not too get too many tears in your beer. No one likes a salty beer.
New records on the way...
Talks of recording to commence in September are underway for the 'birds. We know you're all dying to get your paws on a collaborative project. We're dying too. Everyone's dying. But that shouldn't stop you from living life to its fullest. Why not come check out the Ladybird Sideshow live? Hopefully some stage antics and glimpses of how super-cute and truly "lovely" we all are will ease the pain of not having our CD.
Janine and Erin are also starting to record solo CDs for release sometime in the next decade. But seriously, Erin has been working recently in Hamilton on her stripped-down solo gem. Janine will be recording at the Gingerbread House (those in the know, know) and doing something with more production and bells and whistles than her first record. Isn't that neat?
Jaded breaks the top 10...
Melly McClelly's shit-hot "Jaded" video has broken the top ten on the Much More Music video countdown. As of July 30th, Melissa's video was #9. Congrats, you hot tamale! We know you all want to see "Jaded" as the #1 video (of all time) so why not go to www.muchmoremusic.com to cast your vote. For photos from the filming of said video click here. Besides some great video success Melissa has been doing quite a bit of touring to promote Stranded in Suburbia. Visit her website (www.melissamcclelland.com) to see if you can catch her in your town!
On the side...
Apart from working on solo careers and as a group, each of the gals in the Ladybird Sideshow have other projects on the go that keep them busy. Janine and Erin have been known to perform together as a dynamic acousitc duo for select shows. This partnership has lead them to becoming "Jem" style back-up singers for the nine-piece Afro-Funk orchestra Mr. Something Something. If you like to dance and git down to something totally different, possitive and hyper-active, then you'll prolly dig these guys. Come check out a show and you will certainly not regret it! you may even catch Skee and Neen busting out some token dance moves. We love these guys! You can also often find Lisa busting out her heart-wrenching back-up styles for the likes of Jacob Moon and our very own Melissa McClelland. Busy 'birds, I tell ya.
We sincerely thank you all for your over-whelming support! Thanks for giving us a chance to do what we love.
Take 'r easy,
Janine, Melissa, Erin and Lisa
